What are some of the positives, which would encourage someone to join your Profession?
This job as JTO has provided me with many amazing opportunities so far and with a decent salary. I am hardly ever expected to work overtime and the people that I work with are very helpful. Architecture is a varied stream and it has a lot of scope. It is a perfect blend of technical and artistic elements. There is great scope in this career as in this era there is no single big institution or organization that does not need an architect. So even if architects work privately, there is great job security. Some companies hire permanent architects as there is always some or the other construction going on in these constantly developing organizations. Governmental institutes hire us on a contractual or permanent basis
What are some of the negatives that you would want someone to be aware of when considering a career in your Profession?
One major disadvantage in this profession is that as the time passes by, the competition increases with the scope. There are more and more number of people choosing to go for this profession, hence you need to be at your best at all times. You need to have great communicating skills to help the client understand in case of any short comings. At time when the work load is too much or when the deadline has not been met, the entire team has to work extra hard to make sure nothing goes wrongs and everything is back on schedule.
