Please give us a summary of your Career.
My family has an agricultural background. For a long period of time, I was involved in farming in my district in Bihar. It was later that all of my brothers and I started out with a joint business venture. Agriculture requires you to be closely connected to the soil. We were from rural Bihar and were well versed in farming techniques, as many other families were in those times. From buying of seeds to the selling of the produce, I was closely involved with every facet of farming. My region is associated with the production of rice, mangoes, corn, wheat, sugarcane, litchi.

Owning a business is not easy no matter how big or small they might be. You have to be ready for anything that comes your way, and sometimes it is the failure.
What are some of the positives, which would encourage someone to start their own Textile Store?
In case you manage to strike the right chord with your customers and clients, then your income might rise considerably which is not really possible with fixed salaried professions. You somewhat determine your hours of work, the people you will want to conduct business with and thus, it is a good profession because you do not have anyone controlling you except market supply and demand. My profession allows me to interact with a lot of people, who are generally clients but these people give me a whiff of what is happening in the world outside our region. They have different tastes and come with different demands for instance, rather than the cloth fabrics these days there is a demand for finished clothes.
What are some of the negatives that you would want someone to be aware of when considering a career as a Textile Store Owner?
In terms of negatives of starting your own Textile Store, I would say the risk factor here is very high. You never know when the market demand might tilt in your favor. Also, it is not easy to become a part of the already flourishing trade network, you have to establish contacts with locals, dealers and all this calls for massive investment in terms of money, time and energy. You would also have to look for trustworthy people and staff members who you can be lean on and all this is very hard to find.
