Please give us a summary of your Career.
I was born in a small village in Patiala. Back then, there was no hope and scope of women emancipation. My mother was a homemaker who never had an opportunity to gain education yet she made this uphill task a cake walk and fought for my education so that I could become a self-reliant woman with her head held high in an arduous situation. I was always inclined towards English language and hence took IELTS after my school as I wanted to pursue my higher studies in the US in fashion designing.
This is not an easy exam to take not just as per the difficulty level but it is also expensive, be it the exam fee or the tuition fee. Therefore, the burden of performing well to meet the expectations was even more. My family and I were extremely ecstatic to see the result. I was perfectly eligible to study abroad and even for the scholarship. From then on, I decided to become a Teacher. My first job was when I was 23 years old and taught a student for academic purpose. The mode of study was an online classroom and I used to teach over the phone. I learnt the way of teaching and that what my job demands from the first experience. Today after 7 years of work, I see myself as a Teacher who can manage more number of students with the same efficiency.
Please describe your current Job Responsibilities.
My current job responsibilities include preparing the module to be taught, keeping the essays and graphs handy for the Writing section, preparing the speaking topics and the passages for the reading section. Besides that the patience and dedication to focus and work on the shortcomings of the student is essential for any Teacher. Although the syllabus to be taught is the same but time taken by the students to perceive it differs. There are no fixed working hours in a day because IELTS is conducted during specific months of a year, therefore when these months are about to come to the working hours increase by a factor of two. Tuition of one hour is provided for a student so the working hours depend according to the number of students.

What are some of the positives, which would encourage someone to join your Profession?
Some positives of this profession are a stable and satisfying income, one need not go daily to the office at a specific time to work because IELTS coaching is available online where we can work from home in our comfort zone, moreover the time schedule is flexible. For example, if we want to work from 12-1 and then need an hour break so it is possible that is we can mould the time of working as per our requirements.
What are some of the negatives that you would want someone to be aware of when considering a career in your Profession?
Some negatives of this profession are that during the exam, the working hours increase tremendously because the students would then need more practice and time from their mentor. So after having relaxed working hours, we might experience a lot of burdens all of a sudden. Moreover, the type of work remains the same that is the teacher might get bored of teaching the same syllabus time and again, the job does rarely welcome new endeavours.
