Please give us a summary of your Career.
I started as a Yoga instructor with a group of 6-7 people in the park near my house. Initially, along with teaching yoga, I had started creating awareness for the benefits of yoga and gradually the number of people increased. As the number of people increased, I searched for a hall where I can teach yoga peacefully. And now, I take two sessions every day in the evening. Being a housewife preparing yourself for a different work was initially difficult to adjust but yoga made it easy. Now sometimes I travel also for taking workshops and yoga classes. Overall my job is very peaceful, I enjoy doing it and want to grow in this field.
Please describe your current Job Responsibilities as an Owner of a Yoga and Fitness Club.
My current job responsibilities include giving yoga instructions in my yoga sessions. I follow the curriculum of teaching according to what I have learned during my yoga courses. I handle two sessions of class alone. Currently, I do not have any employee working under me but I am planning to make this class even better by motivating people to do yoga to benefit health, mind, and soul. I also provide personal yoga training at the client’s home in my free time. I interact with every new client after my session to know how they feel about doing it and in every 30 days, I interact with my clients to know what positive things they are experiencing in life after a continuous practice of yoga.

The work-life balance is great in this career, as you do not have to work all day. There are flexible timings, as you can choose the time slot, according to your comfort level. It is a great way to interact with different people. Sometimes you will have to travel for work. If you like interacting with new people, this is an advantage of the profession as you will be guiding people through their practice of yoga. You will be a source of motivation for many people.
What are some of the negatives that you would want someone to be aware of when considering a career in Health & Fitness/Yoga?
Metropolitan cities have a lot of competition in this field and you will have to do lots of publicity for your yoga studio or class. There is a lack of awareness among people of town and villages, so it becomes difficult to convince them to join the classes. for the initial phase, you may have to organize some free workshops and classes to encourage people to do good for their health. The initial income is less, which may or may not support your family entirely, which is one of the biggest challenges in choosing this field as your career option.
