My task is confined not only to the political aspect of things but also includes the analysis of the overarching framework within which these changes occur. What are some of the positives, which would encourage someone to join the Journalism Profession?

It is an adventurous job. I have always loved the thrill that comes with my work. I get to visit small towns and meet the people there, bring to the fore their problems and grievances. Secondly, my profession has helped me to keep in touch with people around me and the various problems that plague them in this highly competitive and challenging world. Journalism helped me explore new dimensions in terms of writing. It has allowed me to express my views and present them in front of a larger audience. Lastly, it is satisfying to see your work bring about some amount of change for the people.

What are some of the negatives that you would want someone to be aware of when considering a career in Journalism?

The scope of enhancement of the income is not very great here. You may or may not get an income hike. Yes, your experience will help you in the long run but altogether it is not important that all the newspapers, magazines and electronic media channels will pay you handsomely. Secondly, if given a desk job you might not get a chance to actually experience the thrill of work that should be a part of the job, according to me of this field. The job security is not high because in the end, everything is dependent on the market.
