Please give us a summary of your Career.
I started my career in 1996 as a staff member at Tetco Ltd. And I then quit the job and joined as a Salesman in Perfecti. I did not like my job and thus, went to Haldia where I was the supervisor under a subcontractor of Larsen & Toubro. Better opportunities came up after a year and I joined Guinea Trading Private Limited as a Sales Representative. Next, I joined an IT company as a Sales Representative and left as a Management staff member after 2 years. After all the ups and downs of my career ultimately, I could understand my passion and that was business. I set up my own business in 2010.
Please describe your current Job Responsibilities.
As the proprietor, I have a huge responsibility resting on my shoulders. Besides, being a businessman I have to devote all my attention and concentration to my own setup business. Definitely, I have to go as per my business policies, settle any matter that may arise with the labor. I have to think of better business schemes and plans, attend seminars with the companies, settle disputes and of course, run my own firm. Business on one hand maybe risky but without risk, you actually cannot earn a lot. After all, we all are running after clothing, shelter, and food.

What are some of the positives, which would encourage someone to join your Profession?
Business is better than any 9 to 5 job in many respects according to me as they give a sense of self-dependence and self-confidence. A businessman cannot own or run a business if they do not have the confidence or cannot take risks in their life. A business can reach its acme if all workers work for hand in hand with 100% effort and without any external glamour which is the basic in the corporate world. It is undoubtedly the profession in which money and fame will run after you.
What are some of the negatives that you would want someone to be aware of when considering a career in your Profession?
The cons for this business are that the workload is for 24 hours and work-life balance cannot be maintained at all times. Business is a highly risky profession as it may witness a downfall at any time of the year and you have to be prepared with further plans to overcome it. Behavioral aspects play a keen role and you have to be calm and quiet despite having many problems running in your mind.

Now you have several years of work experience and you have seen professions of others. If you are taken back to 10th/12th class and allowed to pick a profession, then which profession will you pick and why?
If I once again get a chance to go back to school, I will definitely try to complete my higher studies as at that point of time my family’s financial condition didn’t allow me continue my studies. I would like to complete my MBA to get a far clear picture of the business at an early age.
