After finishing my studies, at Vishveshvarya College of Engineering, as an electronic and communication engineering student. I started my engineering career at Avasarala Technologies in Bangalore. There, I worked as a Control System Design Engineer for about 3 years. Then, I went on to work at Yokogawa India in Bangalore. I worked as the Lead Engineer for about 7 years. Presently, I am working in a company called Emerson in Pune. Here I am working as a Proposal Engineer for the past 4 years.
Please describe your current Job Responsibilities.
Being an engineer, my job is to estimate hardware, software, and services. I also have to coordinate with the sales team and project execution team. And I also handle the preparation of technical and commercial documents. I am responsible for giving a detailed conceptual design of control system architecture to the clients. I am required to complete the required technical and regulatory documents, ensure projects are completed on time with the specified budget, leading clients and lower officers.

What are some of the positives, which would encourage someone to join your Profession?
This profession is creative and it requires innovative ideas that can be used to develop different applications. One can get a higher degree and then do the job of the same profession as you wanted to. This job can make you feel happy and motivate you to work even harder. Job satisfaction, work-life balance, traveling can also be included. Getting an engineering degree can also change one’s status in the society.
What are some of the negatives that you would want someone to be aware of when considering a career in your Profession?
There are not many negatives. But the work can be stressful sometimes. Moreover, time spent in office is more than time spent with family which might affect one psychologically. Sitting in one place and brainstorming might affect one physically.
The workload can be unpredictable and at times very high. There is a competitive atmosphere for promotion. Engineering students have very little opportunity to take business, manufacturing, art, or writing courses when in college.
