I have 23 years of experience in IT Industry, working in Digital Transformation and future technology areas. My domain expertise includes IOT, Smart Cities, Digital Enablement, eGov, and Data Analytics. Over the years, I have managed multiple roles like Technical Engineer, Program Manager, Sr Consultant, and Director. Exposure in verticals like Government & Public Sector, Manufacturing, BFSI, Oil&Gas has given me many unforgettable experiences. I have spent the last 14 years in providing breakthrough leadership to achieve corporate strategies, build a coalition to support business growth and implement and manage change to drive organizational performance. I also carry out extensive experience with C-Level decision makers of large companies throughout the Asia Pacific, Japan, and China region.
Please describe your current Job Responsibilities at Dell EMC.
Business Development and Strategic engagement in Government & Public Sectors around Digital Transformation. My key responsibilities at Dell EMC include to conceptualize, create, lead and manage digital transformation solutions across key verticals (Smart Cities, BFSI, government, cybersecurity, healthcare & utilities). I have to create a strategy and planning to roll out solutions-led approach to position multiple smart solutions for various Smart City verticals (security, solid waste, parking, smart lighting, smart homes, smart traffic, healthcare, education). I have to create and execute a Solution Partner ecosystem (ISV/Vendor management). Also, I work with the local account teams, partners and SI’s to position Dell’s portfolio as an end to end solution with ISV/Solution partners. I undertake enterprise architecture and solutions expert in ICT and OT areas, dealing with people and business operations management.

The positives of work include pretty good income which eases stress to a certain level. There is quite a lot of mixture of culture which provides exposure to an unprecedented level. Work-Life balance is way better as compared to other such streams. This field gives a lot of global visibility and opens us up to global platform challenges and opportunities. New areas of technology and learnings are explored frequently. Some other perks are travel to multiple countries, meeting new people, and social visibility
What are some of the negatives that you would want someone to be aware of when considering a career in your Profession?
The environment around work is quite stressful so, if one does not have the capability to take pressure then this profession might not be suitable for them. Skills are to be upgraded frequently to stay in the race. Skills wear out soon and are of no use after a few years unless updated. One should know what is trending in the IT and software world and do courses in such topics to be on the top. Interest is highly required. If someone is forced into this aspect of the profession then success would be far off.
