Please give us a summary of your Career.

I completed my post graduation in 2008 from Amity University and started my career as an accountant at the Hill View Hospital at Ranchi. I worked there for roughly a year and then switched to Indian Overseas Bank as Assistant Branch Manager at Aligarh. For 5 years, I worked there and got a lot of experience. After that, I took up the job of Assistant Vice President at Yes Bank. I have been working with this firm for the last three years and have got no complaints about the income I receive or the working environment.

Please describe your current Job Responsibilities as Assistant Vice President.

The job of an Assistant Vice President is the most hectic job in a bank apart from that of the Vice President. My office work begins at sharp 9 in the morning. Till 10 am, all the cheques of the previous day have to be cleared and funds are to be transferred to the respective accounts. Any issue regarding the clearance of a cheque is brought to my notice at the earliest. Moving on any maintenance orders for ATM machines, passbook printing machines etc are executed under my signature. If the Assistant Branch Manager is unable to solve the issue of a client, I personally have to look into the matter at the very hour.

Firstly, the job of a bank’s Assistant Vice President brings honor to you and you create a very good social profile for yourself. It goes without saying that the salary provided is just outstanding. Chances are high that you would get promoted if you are ready to strive tirelessly. The firm sends you on business trips quite often and pays the full expense of the trip. Lastly, the experience and knowledge that one gets at such a high post are priceless.

What are some of the negatives that you would want someone to be aware of when considering a career as Assistant Vice President (Banking)?

This is one of the most hectic and stressful jobs in an organization. Any misplacement or miscalculation of funds happens and the head authority blames you for the loss. Mostly you have to work extra hours just in order to confirm every record is properly maintained. Returning home with such a tired mind and body, you usually do not get time to spend some quality time with your family. Lastly, the business trips wear you out due to jetlag and workload.
