Please give us a summary of your Career.

I started my career after coming across an ad with Religare Securities Limited and I worked in the franchise under them called the Budge Budge zone. I suffered from an enormous financial breakdown due to some internal conflicts and thus, I left the job after 3 years.
Next, I joined as a junior accountant at the Lloyd Insulations. But I was forced to leave the job due to the in-hostile living conditions after 2 years.
Next, I joined as the commercial officer at Sikkim Breweries Limited. I worked there for 3 years and left a post that as I did not have the job satisfaction.
Presently, I work as an LIC life advisor.

Please describe your current Job Responsibilities.

My day to day job responsibilities include advising people on their securities in life and how to claim settlement. On an average, 44% of the people in India do not know about LIC.  I make them aware of the benefits of LIC and help them figure out the best policies among the several thousand available. Besides, I also have to engage myself in claim settlement at times. For accidental cases, the claim has to be settled as early as possible. But for matured policies, I have to submit the maturity certificate from policyholders so that they can further invest in new policies.

Please provide details

I am a person who is dedicated to my work and me do not like taking advice from people. I prefer to analyse the situation myself and take an insight to determine its positives and negatives and frame out my own solutions.

What are some of the positives, which would encourage someone to join your Profession?

It is an independent service and returns totally depends upon your interest and your involvement in the job. You are independent and can enjoy your profession. Besides you can devote time to some side business if you have to make money. You can devote more time to your family and can maintain a very smooth work-life balance.
You can reach higher positions in a short interval of time. Once you become the Zonal Head and DM or maybe the MDRT, your respect in the society will increase by leaps and bounds. The job also offers all types of presents including foreign trips once a year if you can match their expectations.

What are some of the negatives that you would want someone to be aware of when considering a career in your Profession?

The competition in this field is quite high. You have to work a lot if this is your only source of income. Besides this, you need to keep your clients happy. You have to be very patient and have a calm attitude even in the worst situations. If you are unable to keep up with the basic requirements of LIC, then you can lose your job at any time.
It also has a variable income pattern that varies every month.
