Please give us a summary of your Career.
My journey started as a theatre actor with NSD’s professors, where I acted as the lead actor in their plays. I also learned the art of writing plays and scripting theatrical performances. When you’re playing the lead role, you need to accommodate a lot, understanding the character to be able to portray the nuances, getting the gestures and voice right, and also the clothing. Everything has to be in sync with the character being portrayed. I spent two years doing theatre with great teachers and mentors.
I also performed as a lead actor for Bharat Rang Mahotsav, international theatre festival of NSD. From there, I started my film journey wherein I acted as a lead actress for the Bengali movie Bangla Naache Bhangra. The project took 10 months from the inception till the release date. As a lead, again, it was a lot of responsibility, for lines dialogues, looks, dances, expressions etc.
After that, I settled in Delhi and started my Performing Art Institute and Film Production House. Right now, we have 10 academies in Delhi-NCR, in association with BNP education trust, where dance, music, theatre and Yoga are taught to students.
From the production house, various school annual days, wedding events, cultural events take place. Its been more than 4 years for the company to function and excel.
Please describe your current Job Responsibilities.
As there are various aspects to my job, so a normal day starts at 7 am, with meetings for various cultural events, or school projects, wedding choreographies or upcoming film projects.
Apart from the regular functioning of the institute, there’s a lot of coordination work to do. We work on a project basis, so the client and team coordination have to be perfect, with our team instructors delegated for different projects respectively.
Along with that, special workshop sessions go on regularly. The institute closes at 10 pm but that’s not my closing time.
