Then I have worked in Ridge Towers by AIGL Properties as a Deputy Project Manager for the next six years. I have also worked as a Project Manager in M/s. Niharika Projects Pvt Ltd for a year and currently, I am working for VamsiRam Builders as a Project Manager.

Please describe your current Job Responsibilities.

Checking my mail is the first thing I do after entering the office. This helps me to keep a track of the change in plans if any. Then I as a part of my duty would go around the project which is the construction of a building, to check if the work slotted for the previous day is completed or not. Then I would talk to my higher authorities about the workload, the requirements required like the materials required like steel, concrete, cement, bricks etc. There would be a meeting with my boss almost every week so that we could update him on the work going on in the project.

What are some of the positives, which would encourage someone to join your Profession?

Being a civil engineer is not as easy as it seems. You have got to be a good learner and focus on something for a very long period of time. You got to be crystal clear about your work, your duties so that you can enjoy your duties every day. you will be able to receive a lot of help from your colleagues and friends on any matter related to your job. your studies are least concerned when it comes to your job, having minimum knowledge is enough. overall the job will be enjoyable.

What are some of the negatives that you would want someone to be aware of when considering a career in your Profession?

As everything in the world has both negatives and positives. Even civil engineering comes with negatives too. you have to solely depend on your previous experiences while solving a problem and the timings of a civil engineer are more or less a bit uncomfortable as these timings keep varying sometimes due to the worst weather conditions or if any problem occurs in the site, construction you have to be present at the location as soon as possible and find out the reason behind it. and you are entirely dependent on your workers. you can complete nothing working alone.
