Please give us a summary of your Career.

Currently working in Wipro Technologies as a Senior Project Manager.
I started my career as a software engineer at CMC LTD. There I was in the Insurance domain. Did application development in oracle forms report.
Also involved in software development in ports and cargo domain.
Leading the development team for Adani Wilmar port applications software development
Joined as a Release manager in Tech Mahindra for British telecom and led the entire postpaid billing.
Also performed project management of technical infrastructure project.
I was in the UK for 2 years as billing deployment lead.

Please describe your current Job Responsibilities as Sr. Project Manager.

Joined in Wipro as a Sr. Project Manager and currently in Checkpoint team. I have also performed Sr Scrum Master role in Cisco account. Involved in managing data conversion in Hadoop from Teradata. Leading a team of 20 people to do estimation, development, maintenance etc.
Also performed a critical role of recruiting people for the Cisco account.
Currently in Checkpoint involving consulting in Cloud Security. Here I am also involved in the implementation of cloud dev ops. I also impart training of cloud.

A new joinee will have good salary and opportunities to learn new technologies.
There are several corporate facilities given to employees along with great office infrastructure.
Good opportunity to work with various Clients and Industry Domains.
Opportunities to travel various countries.
Salary, Income, and Promotions are largely based on your performance; unlike what is practiced in more traditional industries like Manufacturing.
Senior employees are treated as an asset of the company.

What are some of the negatives that you would want someone to be aware of when considering a career in your Profession?

You may not always get the dream job/work, as there will always be more competition for it.
As a fresher, you are always required to work late night for two reasons. One, you aren’t that productive as you are learning on the job and secondly, timelines to deliver the project are invariably always tight.
Working on Weekend is often required for most IT Engineers.
Getting transferred to other cities is a common practice.
Salary hike is not always as per the market standards.
Personal life is always hampered because of unplanned work and delivery commitment.
Losing Job is the most painful scenario, but it is very common in this industry.
