Please give us a summary of your Career.

Started working with Tikona Ltd as a Network engineer. I worked there for around 6 months. My job profile was to handle customer complaints of Internet services that Tikona provided. I would troubleshoot on network devices and relays.
Then, I joined Wipro Ltd. as a Consultant for Dynamics CRM. Trained and worked with Microsoft employees on the product issues faced by companies. I worked there for 3 years.
Now, I work with CCS as a Technical Consultant for Dynamics CRM. I am responsible for handling the entire project of Aditya Birla.

Please describe your current Job Responsibilities as a Technical Consultant.

As an L3 support, handling escalations and working on critical issues is my primary responsibility.
Being a Technical Consultant includes working with different teams like DBAs, Network, IT and Infra to expedite the resolution timeline.
Coordinating with business users to understand and address the ongoing issues.
Monitoring Application and DB services for irregularities.
As I am the Technical Consultant I have to look after training users and providing Knowledge Transfers to support team to keep them updated about the new developments done in the system.
Maintaining periodical reports related to ETL jobs, data push through web services and customer portal, unused and missing indexes, re-indexing and rebuilding statistic jobs and issues reported by users.

You get to travel to your clients’ locations.
Learn new things as the product upgrades, client requirement, client industry

What are some of the negatives that you would want someone to be aware of when considering a career as Technical Consultant?

A hard time during product-go-live, as we may need to do long shifts and night shifts.
Starting years are not so rewarding in terms of salary, but stick to it and you will see wonders.
It is getting harder to find the right job in this field because of too much competition.
Client’s requirement change too often, so we need to be prepared accordingly.
We need to be constantly learning as the product gets updates with new features every 6 months.
